It could be a very big problem if you cannot freely use your bathroom. The bathroom is the place where you take your bath, brush your teeth, and take care of your general hygiene. If you cannot use your bathroom, you will have to find another bathroom you can use in order to take your shower. Problems that arise in your bathroom can be numerous, depending on how old you bathroom is. You are going to face a lot of remodeling problems if you have not properly maintained your bathroom (all my Danish relatives call it “bad”). You are thinking about renovating (renovering) or adding another bathroom to your house and hiring a specialist or a contractor in building your bathroom is an option you are considering. However, before even considering hiring a contractor for your bathroom, you must first consider some factors: - How large is the job of renovating your bathroom? Make a checklist and observe the parts of your bathroom that needs replacement. If you think that most of your bathroom needs replacement, then you may need to hire a contractor. - Check how much you are going to spend on hiring a contractor. Specialist can be very expensive and the higher their prices get if they have more experience. If you can afford an expensive contractor with a lot of experience then it will be better. - Having a lot of experience does not mean that it meets your needs for your bathroom. Interview the contractor and check if you can communicate well with him or her. Hire the contractor if you are satisfied with his or her past works. It is also a good option to ask opinions from their clients (if possible) and inquire from them how satisfied they were with their work. - Ask if they are licensed by the government to do jobs relating to bathroom. This will assure you that they are permitted to do bathroom constructing jobs. You can have a hard time suing someone who is not licensed although the government can do something about it. - If you want to hire a contractor, ask from your relatives or friends who are familiar about contractors of bathrooms. If you know a friend who has hired a contractor and is currently working with their bathroom, ask your friend to let you inside the bathroom and witness firsthand on how they are doing with their work. This is much better than looking at pictures from their portfolios. The bathroom will give you comfort if you have chosen the best design that suits your taste.
