What is the glory of God, and why should you consider seeking it? Moses discovered it, and once he did, he refused to go on without it. In short, and very simple terminology, the glory of God is the revelation of His tangible presence. He overwhelms you with His love and displays His attributes: the essence of who He is. Moses witnessed the glory in the burning bush, in all the miracles in both Egypt and the desert, and in the clouds with thunder and lightning on Mt. Sinai. He had seen and heard Him a number of times, but he wanted so much more! His heart was hungry to know the One who had led them out of bondage and into His Kingdom. The Lord hid him inside the rock, where He stood with him and proclaimed his name: the Lord. He then passed in front of Moses, revealing himself as Lord, compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin, and punishing the guilty. Moses bowed down and worshipped, and begged Him to be with them forever. (Ex. 34: 3 - 9) The Israelites were fearful of the glory and asked Moses to be their spokesman with God. By accepting Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, you are righteous! You do not need to ask others to reveal God to you. The Lord yearns to be your friend! Don't be like the Israelites who feared to come close to God. If you seek Him with all your heart, as Moses did, you will find Him! (Deut. 4: 29) If you are facing dire circumstances, do go and hide in the cleft of the Rock; the Lord Jesus Christ! You may know Him as your Lord and Saviour, but Jesus wants to reveal Himself and the Father. The Father is seeking a Bride for His Son, - one whom both He and the groom know and love intimately.
