You must have read the hype promises about new online home business offers and wondered, how easy businesses the offers promise. Easy to start and easy to make money. Of course those are total nonsenses, because you have a full work to master one online business well. If you think, how many online home business you can master, you have first to think, what actually is the heart of the strategy. What is the area, where your expertise is good? If it is product related, find new revenue sources from the features of the present product. If your expertise is a marketing know how related, you can use the same know how for many businesses. 1. The Importance Of The Brand. We cannot be experts in many online home business sectors, because the heart of the success is based on a strong brand. The brand, a trusted expertise image on some specific area, can be built only with a niche theme. If a marketer uses many themes, which does not support each other, he cannot get a high profile brand image. 2. The Breadth Or The Depth? Which one brings a better result, many mediocre businesses or one strong brand? I would prefer, at least in the theory, to stick with the one brand idea. A marketer can find new markets, i.e. places to meet the target group, by using more mediums or even by using more keywords. 3. Don´t Change The Strategy, Launch New Things With The Present Strategy. So my idea seems to be, that it is wise to keep the learnt strategy, but to use it for more purposes. For example, if your main strategy for the promotions is the search engine marketing, like I have, you can use it for quite many things in the marketing. However, the net surfer does not think, what is your marketing strategy, but what is your content strategy and the brand image. 4. You Must Have A Written Brand Strategy. A brand is an image, or fame, the target group has about your brand. That image is built from all possible things, the products, the services, web sites, blogs, forum writings, emails etc. All user experiences will influence on that. When it comes from so many sources, you must have a written brand strategy document to guide the actions. 5. The Strategies Will Develop. The heart of the strategy is the same through years. If you think mega brands like Nokia in the handset business, they have had the same promise, connecting people, for years. However, they have launched hundreds of new phone models, all under the same brand and consumer promise. The contents of the ads have been changed, so they have very clearly followed the time by developing the contents of the communication. As you see, the strategy is quite sensitive thing, more sensitive than you can imagine. That is the good reason, why every marketer should use more time and efforts to develop it.
