Acorn Media UK have announced the release of the second series of popular the BBC family comedy The Life of Riley for the very first time. The Life of Riley Series 2 DVD has been released by Acorn Media UK in time for Christmas before a general release in 2011. The Life of Riley stars Caroline Quentin and Neil Dudgeon as the remarried Maddy and Jim who are at the head of a modern day extended family - children, step children, step siblings and half siblings – with a few ex-partners and in-laws thrown in. In this series we find Maddy competing with her ex-husband’s new girlfriend and regretting reading Katy’s diary. Meanwhile Jim finds out he can’t say no and suffers when he watches a scary film with Danny. What’s more, the whole family discover some uncomfortable truths about each other when building works mean they have to share rooms. As they face up to date night, evil babysitters, teenage romance, Mums on the run, learning to drive and Ted coming down with a dose of Robertson’s Giant Limb, it’s life as we know it, only a good deal funnier. The Life of Riley is on its to becoming a new staple BBC family situation comedy in the mould of the ever popular My Family and a third series is due for broadcast in 2011.
