Just under four hundred miles north of London is the capital city of Scotland known as Edinburgh. A decent size population of about half a million people consider the city as their home going one step further to welcome millions more every year to visit them, especially during their month long festivities in August . This is not a warm climate by any means, so be prepared for cool summers and chilly nights. Getting to Edinburgh is as easy as choosing one of many airlines calling either Edinburgh Airport or Glasgow International Airport their homes. Whether you are arriving from far away through connecting flights, or you departure city is in the same hemisphere, traffic generally flows smoothly from both major airports. Hotels in Edinburgh are a short ride with either an express shuttle bus, a taxi, or your own family automobile. Once there, transportation to and from any of the Hotels in Edinburgh is fairly easy with bus services, taxis and depending on where your trip takes you, a train ride is possible. One of your first stops upon arrival should be to the Edinburgh Castle which sits high above everything else and is located in the center of the city.
