Getting injured while playing sports is one of the more annoying things that can happen, it is always nice to avoid, but if you can't, it is important to know how to fix it. There are tons of people that do not understand how important it is to heal, but they would rather just go play. It is always a good idea to meet with a doctor, or someone qualified to help. Also don't be shy to visit the doctor even at time when you may not think you need a visit. A lot of the time people think they can do just fine healing on their own, but a high majority of the time a doctor visit would not hurt. If worst comes to worst and you do face an injury, the best thing you can do is rest the injury. There are plenty of people who try to hop right back in the game or run on a treadmill and risk further injury. Another popular way to heal an injury is ice. If ice is the direction you want to go, do not keep it on for too long, twenty minutes for the longest, any longer time can cause nerve damage. There is the simple ice cubes in a bag style, although it can not work as well as other choices, the bag usually has sharp edges and doesn’t do well well keeping the injured area cold. Another good, popular choice is the the frozen peas in a bag. The pea style is much more effective, and will help you our more than ice cubes in a bag. You never want the swelling to grow on you so be sure to ice all the area the injury is around. If you are playing a game and feel an injury be sure to get out as soon as possible and start to rest. The more soon you begin your healing, the sooner you will get back playing. A lot of people do not understand how important it is to heal, patience is key. Getting back into the swing of things to early could put you right back on the bench with another injury.
