I am a housewife. I love looking after my home and my family. My favorite place of the whole house is the kitchen. I used to be a chef in a five star restaurant and since I decided to dedicate myself to the family, I spent every minute in the kitchen. I love to make different meals for my favorite people. That is why I insist that my kitchen is always in the best condition. Yesterday I entered to cook dinner. However, this time something wasn’t right. I looked at my well-used worktop and got very disappointed that it is all scratched and looked very old. My fridge was the same, and I didn’t even want to get started with the cooker. For the first time in three years, I didn’t feel comfortable in my own kitchen and that is when I realized that something had to change. I called dinner off and took my family for Chinese meal. When we were in the restaurant, we discussed the issue with the kitchen. We all agreed that over the next couple of days we would do everything possible to change it. Everybody had the task to think what we could do to improve the look of it. I was well excited that the whole family was taking part in this. The next morning we gathered in the living room and everybody gave an idea of how to easily renovate the kitchen without spending too much money. My son was the first one with the first idea. He suggested to cover the worktops with heat and scratch resistant foil and that way to give them a completely new look. Very good idea – simple and not expensive as our worktops weren’t that old to be replaced. Second was my daughter – she suggested to paint the kitchen in fresh colors. This idea was also great as it would work not only in the kitchen but in any room as well. So far so good. My youngest child offered to change the lighting in the kitchen and that way to give it a warmer and cozier look. I was very impressed with all the ideas. I was next in the line. I know I said at the beginning simple ideas but I couldn’t resist and said that I wanted new tiles. I never liked the old ones as they have been on the floor since we bought the house. Everybody agreed. My husband was last and he said that as a present to me for being an amazing chef he would buy me a new fridge-freezer and a brand new cooker. He also suggested changing the curtains, as they were very old. I must say that was the best day of my life. The whole family putting their efforts together to help with ideas. The next two weeks we were all involved in the renovation of the kitchen and the result was amazing. I hope you could find useful tips for your own kitchen as well.
