Candle Scents Are A Staple Of Society

Online Shopping
For centuries candles have had many uses. Before electricity was invented people used candles for lighting. Of course light is the most obvious use for candles, however not the only way to take advantage of them. Early healers would use candles as part of their treatment practices because of the healing qualities of candle scents.

Candle scents were once very limited and the early candles were made of tallow which had quite an unpleasant smell especially during the manufacturing process. Later, during the early days of America new candle scents were created using berry juices which made candles far more appealing than before. However it would not be until much later that candles would start to really diversify their scent’s plethora.

After the invention of the light bulb the need to use candles as a lighting source decreased significantly. Candles became more mainstream during the 1980s when people started using candle scents in their homes and the aroma of candles soon became popular. Candles started to be manufactured with new and various candles scents thanks to the use of new ingredients. Scientific advances in the manufacture of gel wax, petroleum derivatives, and other substances started to be employed.

Candles nowadays are one of the perfect gifts for anyone and are given to people who would like to add some finishing touch to their homes so it is almost unheard of to give an unscented candle to someone. The majority of candles today are made with a scent unless they are delivered to a church. Candle scents can create a special ambiance in any home as they give off many different aromas. The huge variety of candle smells available on the market is quite astounding. The oils used to impregnate the candle wax are derived from sandalwood, coconut, apple pie, caramel, vanilla, blueberry, jasmine, ocean mist, cinnamon spice and chocolate and scents from these oils relieve stress by making the body and the mind relax.

Here are some of the most popular examples of using aromatherapy for various purposes:

Invoke happiness – Vanilla and tangerine are great scents to promote relaxation, happiness and calmness of the body and mind.

For better concentration – eucalyptus is one of the most fantastic candle scents as it stimulates creative thinking and sets free the imagination.

Welcome peace in your home – to efficiently fight the fatigue use candles with lemon, pine or patchouli scents.

Love is in the air with rose scents, as well as orange, Ylang Ylang and patchouli.

For relieving stress and for sound sleep try candle scents as lavender, sandalwood, chamomile or honeysuckle.

Additionally, many people use candles for many other occasions as parties, gatherings, garden dining etc. Set the right tone to your event with carefully chosen candle scents that will add special touch to the comfort of guests. Invigorating citrus scented candles are most preferred for the summer season while vanilla, apple, cinnamon or sugar cookie fragrances are better suited for the cold winter months.
