Muck boots are an excellent idea for any greenhouse gardener. Yes, most people associate muck boots with being in the military or working with sewage, but muck boots are not just for those people. A lot of people who are involved with greenhouse gardening tend towards the Wellington boots for their footwear. Muck boots are designed specifically to wade through ankle-high levels of mud and muck. Wellington boots are designed more for walking over muddy areas and protecting the feet from wetness. They are heavier than muck boots, although sometimes the names are interchanged. This, in fact, is why muck boots are often associated with the military. Muck boots are lighter than standard Wellington boots, but they offer just as much protection against mud, filth, muck, and excessive water. There's no need to worry about protecting your feet against walking over rough terrain or falling debris when you're working in a greenhouse, however. The Wellington boot and Mossy Oak Muck Boot is perfect for those things, but lighter modern-day muck boots are designed with less stressful environments in mind. Now you might think that since you're just doing greenhouse gardening, you don't have to worry about muck boots, or any boots. Why can't you just wear some leather shoes, or even sneakers? Muck boots are also quite helpful if you move your greenhouse-grown plants out of doors. Here you may once again experience heavily saturated soil and you might have to do a lot of irrigating. If you do greenhouse gardening for the sake of a controlled environment because you live in northern climes where Winters are long and wet, muck boots are perfect for going through the snow and ice on the ground. If you get a lot of snow through the Winter, you know that when Spring finally shows its head you will have very wet, muddy ground.- Again, your muck boots protect and comfort your feet as you have to navigate this ground to tend your greenhouses' plants and young trees.
