The capital city of North Queensland Cairns locates near the equator and it is the real tropical vacation paradise for its abundant barrier reef and tropical rainforests. The Great Barrier Reef It is one of the world’s seven natural landscapes and Cairns is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Total length of Great Barrier Reef is 2,000 kilometers, with a total area of 80,000 square kilometers. There are numerous coral islands and islets formed by deposition of the mainland mountains islands, which is also the habitat of more than 400 kinds of marine molluscs and 1,500 species of fish, many of which are the world’s endangered species. Mission Beach It is a 14 km long beach, but there are two world natural heritages: the Great Barrier Reef and tropical rainforests. Mission Beach is the nearest land from the Great Barrier Reef, for it only takes one hour to go there by boats. So, if you stay here, you will have more time to experience the Great Barrier Reef. Rain forestation Nature Park In this park, you can take boat to go through the rainforest. It not only has forest, rivers and lush tropical fruits gardens, but also has various specious wild animals. If you are interested in it, you can go deep and explore the lives of indigenous inhabitants. Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park It is a national Aboriginal Cultural Park. If you want to understand the mysterious customs and histories of Australian indigenous peoples, you are right to come here. The tour is divided into morning and night show: you can watch the morning show of indigenous dance and participate in activities such as indigenous javelin; in the night show, visitors are all painted on the back to have carnival with indigenous people. Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures Not only crocodiles, snakes, koalas, lizards and other wild animals were long-term residents here. But the crocodile show here can be regarded as the best in Australia, among which crocodile attack show is the most irritating one.
