Everyday, we are bombarded with lots of news about crimes, gore massacres, bloody accidents and the likes. There is no single chance for us to breathe and relax for we are undoubtedly impacted by the deterioration of our society. There and then, we are troubled with the kind of living that we have. The insecurities and the fears for our lives translate into bewilderment of our souls. Seemingly, we are trapped in an un-pacified geographical space which annihilates the real essence of our existence- to live fully in this realm that we live in. Ours is a flawed society. It is, therefore, an imperative for this flawed society to construct institutions that will aim not to further destroy but to rejuvenate the former. If the crimes, the accidents, the petty misfortunes and all the other bad news are our greatest concerns, we must then try to reevaluate our interiorized perspectives and single out Crime Prevention and not just mere temporal attention as the key to uproot these problems. In essence, there must be institutions that will seek to address the insufficiency of community safety. There should be bodies that will overlook on peoples’ security. This is the prime reason for the birthing of the police, the national defense, and the military. But, these bodies are delving into issues of the macro level and the national sphere. But as forwarded by several other institutions as in the case of security agencies, Crime Prevention then becomes a focus not just of the state to reinforce its self but the individuals as well. These individuals are greatly constrained by the need to provide a crime-free society that will enable the people to live a fuller life. Crime Prevention is an endeavor that must be fulfilled by both the public and the private arenas, and by both the people and the state and its institutions. Security agencies are also of great importance. Their principle is in accordance with that of their society. Their capacity to provide security and eradicate its opposite is also noteworthy that it clearly adheres to the notions of a utopia- a society which is free from all sorts of crimes and ill-rotten acts. The need to prevent these criminal acts not just entail to punishing the suspects, and the criminals, but also, it entails to the formulation of wise, just, and righteous regulations for the people to follow. In regard to the people who commit these unlawful acts, they should not easily be judged upon and be put into a binary opposition of right and wrong, the criminal and the noncriminal. Crime Prevention entails to the formulation of righteous and just laws which aim to develop a harmonious society. To reiterate some points, nongovernmental bodies such as the security agencies ae very much needed for they, in turn, adhere to the very principles of the state to serve the people and provide them the kind of living they always wanted to.
