One of the most used kitchen appliances that used to be a luxury but has become a necessity in our fast-paced lives is the stainless steel dishwasher. Not only has this appliance become an extremely important time-saving device, but it has been shown in some studies that dishes are cleaner and more sanitary if they have been washed in a dishwasher rather than by hand. In today?s world, there are many options in every kind of appliance that we buy, and one option that many people prefer is the stainless steel dishwasher. Most major brands and styles of dishwashers come in a stainless steel dishwasher as well as other options, and people like the fact that they are durable, germ resistant, and have high performance ratings. Durability is important no matter what kind of appliance you are purchasing. The stainless steel dishwasher is definitely a cut above the old models that used a metal tub that was coated with enamel. The enamel would crack or chip over time, and the metal underneath would rust. Because the stainless steel dishwasher tub will not rust or crack, the life of the dishwasher is prolonged over those old enamel coated models. Hard water also adversely affected the old models while its only effect on the stainless steel dishwasher is that you can see the calcium deposits as they begin to build up on the shiny sides of the tub. This allows you to know when it needs to be wiped down or cleaned. A stainless steel dishwasher tub is not porous so it can?t absorb dirt and oil and is highly resistant to both bacteria and germs. Because it can handle high heat, it allows the water temperature to be raised higher, which is better for cleaning the dishes. Raising the water temperature also allows better chemical reactions between the hot water and the dish detergent, which also makes for better cleaning. Since the whole point of this appliance is to have clean dishes, this is a definite advantage. Hotter water temperatures also go a long way to reducing germs and bacteria that may have been deposited on the dishes themselves. This brings us to the advantage of high performance that a stainless steel dishwasher can provide the user. The thickness of the stainless steel dishwasher tub aids in dampening sound. This means that the unit is quiet while it is running. Older models were notorious for the amount of noise that they would create while washing the dishes. The ability of the stainless steel to handle the heat means that the stainless steel dishwasher is making a more efficient use of energy as the dishes are washed, because it can help to maintain the higher water temperatures. In addition, the ability of the stainless steel dishwasher tub to retain heat allows one to cut down on the drying time or use a no-heat drying cycle, which will also generate an energy savings. Energy savings can translate into saving money in the long run, so high performance is a definite advantage.
