For many people, the stainless steel dishwasher is an appliance that works hard, requires little care, and is great at doing its job. However, there are a few things that one can do to get the most from a stainless steel dishwasher. When you put detergent in your stainless steel dishwasher, you should always follow the manufacturer?s directions on usage. Adding a little extra detergent because you think it will get the dishes even cleaner is a mistake that many people make, because that extra amount of soap can actually leave a residue on everything in the dishwasher. Use the right amount of cleaning agent for the best results. It is easy to throw everything in our stainless steel dishwasher, but there really are some items should not be put into it. Wood splits with the water, humidity and high temperatures of the machine. Glassware that is delicate should not be placed in your stainless steel dishwasher because it could break and cause a challenging mess to clean up. Copper and cast-iron can get damage as well as cause damage to other dishes if placed in this appliance, so be aware of what you are putting in it. If your stainless steel dishwasher includes its own garbage disposal unit, it may be tempting to simply stick the dishes and all their leftover food into the dishwasher. Even with advanced technology, too much food can cause problems. Even though pre-washing is not necessary, it is still important to scrape food off of dishes before placing them in the racks. Have you ever wondered if it mattered whether you put dishes on the top rack or bottom rack of your stainless steel dishwasher? Actually, some items are only safe for the top rack. Others must be on the bottom if you want them to get clean enough. It is also important that you know how the sprayer in your stainless steel dishwasher works so that you don?t block it. If you place items that are too tall in a place where they block the sprayer, sprayer arms cannot rotate freely, which means that some dishes will be dirty at the end of the cycle. Many people wonder about the proper way to load silverware in their stainless steel dishwasher. Should it go up or down? Actually, silverware should alternate pointing up and down to prevent items from nesting together, which means that food will stick between them and the utensils won?t get clean. Some people think that washing a partial load of dishes is better than letting them sit for a long time until the load is full. However, a stainless steel dishwasher is more energy efficient when washing a full load, since it takes the same amount of water and detergent for each load. By following these tips on loading and running your stainless steel dishwasher, you will be able to make sure that it lasts you for many years and keeps on giving you consistently clean dishes with each load that you run.
