The way this translates to how many cubic your family needs, the average is 2 cubic feet for each individual with 2 extra cubic feet. However, if you grow your own garden or purchase bulk meet, you will want to add some extra space to the upright freezers that you are considering. Remember to rotate your food adequately by labeling everything with a date when you place it in your upright freezers. Even though foods can last a long time when frozen, over time it can lose some of its flavor and nutritional value, so rotation is important. All in all, upright freezers are great appliances for helping stretch your food budget.
