Akon holds the distinction for being the first solo artist to be at both the number one and two spots simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 charts twice. He has been nominated for 6 Grammy Awards. Akon is also known for performing with other renowned artistes. Some of the illustrious artistes he worked with include the names as great as Michael Jackson, R. Kelly, Quincy Jones, Eminem and Whitney Houston.
