Insulate The Walls of Your Room Through This Specialist Paint

Home Improvement,Interior Design
There are several ways of making the heating environment in your room more comfortable. But it is very difficult to capture the heat inside your rooms or house. Naturally if you reside in a warm or hot region of the world then you would want a cooler environment and if you reside in a cooler or cold region of the world then you would want to salvage your valuable and costly heat, created by burning, usually fossil fuels.

Here is the solution wall insulation ‘sewn’ into the paint on the walls itself. The paint wall insulation is useful in both cases i.e. colder region and hotter region. Insulation, put simply means the prevention of heat flow from one way to the other.

Note that, heat flows in only one direction and that is always from the higher temperature to the lower one. In the case that you are in a colder region then heat will flow from the inside of your rooms to the outer surroundings and into space, in the case that you are in a hot region, the sun’s heat will flow through the walls of your building and into your home, making the environment uncomfortable in the least and unbearable in more extreme circumstances. In both scenarios a solid insulating system will be your protection from the extremes of our worldly environment, ensuring that heat and cold are balanced in maintaining a more liveable and comfortable surrounding.

In as few words as possible the better the insulation of your wall the greater the restriction of heat transfer, thereby blocking heat escaping from your room in a cold place and preventing heat entering your building in a hot place; leading to an improved regulation of heat, for a one of cost of painting the walls (as discussed in detail below).

One of the best ways in markedly improving the insulation of your walls is by the use of a very specialist paint. These paints are created in such a way they work both as a reflector and an insulator (physical blocker of heat). Coating the wall with this special insulating paint creates millions of tiny nano vacuums created inside the layer; thereby using the same effect of a thermos to insulate your home, this works as a vacuum has no transmitting medium.

There are numerous microspheres contained within the paint, which work well with the principle of total internal reflection. The microspheres are incorporated in such a way that the minimum angle required for the total internal reflection will be attained and any heat falling on it will be reflected back rather than refraction or transmission.

If you are a resident of a cold region then you will know all too well, capturing the heat inside your room is an ongoing battle, so perhaps you could even consider applying two coats of this insulating paint in order to maximise the wall insulation properties derived from this insulating paint from the inside. If you use the paint on the outer surface of the wall, then sunlight falling on the wall will be reflected back, and this is adverse to the requirement. So paint must be applied on the inner wall only if you are in the colder region.

Now if you are living in the hotter region then you would want to maintain a cooler environmental surrounding of your house. The heat in that type of surrounding will always flow from the outer side to the inner side (i.e. due to the extreme sunlight) so you need to make the walls insulating to prevent the heat flow from this outer surrounding to the inner portion of your house. In this case you can apply the paint on both the sides of the walls.

The paint on the outer surface of the wall will reflect the sunlight falling on it and also the microspheres created in the layer of the paint will prevent the flow of heat to the inside, although some, limited amount will bypass the outer painted layer, the paint on the inner surface of the wall will then prevent further amount of the heat entering the building, thereby maximizing the coolness of the property. Not only does this make the surrounding much more comfortable but will also save considerable amounts of money on air conditioning, which is well known to be a very costly luxury.

Ultimately you will benefit from three layers preventing the heat flow, the outer and inner layers of insulating paint and off course the layer of wall itself; consequently leading to a good result of wall insulation through the use of this insulating paint.

The quality of the paint itself will also determine the level of insulation it provides. The number one supplier and patent holder of this technology is Thermilate Technologies Limited based in the UK, who are renowned for the quality and insulating properties of the paint they produce.

In addition to using the insulating paint as a paint to both insulate and decorate your house, you can also use it as an undercoat if you wish. This is a useful concept especially as many people have certain brands they prefer or colours which may not always be available in the insulating paint range. This is not anything to worry about as one can paint their walls with the insulating paint, using it as an undercoat, following which they can paint over it with any brand or colour they wish to finish the cosmetic look with.
