Every business needs a well-designed website to help attract clients and customers. Running a business without a website in today's market is unthinkable. The internet is often the first resource potential clients and customers use to search for information about your company or to search for a company that does what you do. When that happens, you want to be prepared with a well designed website that represents your company in the best possible light. The number one most important rule of business website design is that you should hire a professional to do the job. Just because you have a friend or relative that knows a little bit about web design doesn't mean you should hire that person to design your site. People can tell the difference between a professionally designed site and one that has been done on a shoestring budget. Next, keep it simple. Avoid flashy intros and complex graphics. When someone visits your site you want that person to be able to find the information they are looking for right away without hassle. You don't need to dazzle them with design. Make your menus simple and easy to understand and navigate. Also, your design should be consistent throughout the site. Keep your menus and pages uniform so that when someone navigates through your site, it feels like one cohesive whole rather than a combination of several different websites. Also, everything should be easy to read, which means colors and graphics should all be chosen with that in mind. Keeping it simple is the number one rule of business website design.
