Since the beginning of civilized medical professions, professionals have been under constant pressure to successfully treat the health issues of their patients. After all the facts have been gathered, they reveal that the patient is really seeking a medical miracle for issues that are the end result of years upon years of self abuse and neglect that leave modern medicine and doctors at a loss for adequate treatments or cures. For certain health issues there are drugs that can be used to address the serious health issues that individuals face. Unfortunately, these remedies can only stop the symptoms temporarily and most doctors find that without cooperation and lifestyle changes from their patients they really don't stand a chance of making these individuals better over the long term. It takes more than just a quick fix to repair a lifetime of damage and abuse. Of course, surgery is very often recommended for serious health problems but many of these are very simply a way of pulling the disease or diseased organ or portion of the organ out of the patient. Most people would say that they are functioning fine on half a kidney or lung, however the body is a system and one missing piece definitely affects the overall function of the body as a whole. Pretending that removal of one organ or even a part of an organ is insignificant is quite preposterous. It has become common practice for surgeons to remove many of the minimal organs like tonsils and appendix because they are easy to remove if they cause any problems and don't appear to be missed by the individual or the body vital functioning. However, because these seemingly insignificant organs are tied to the immune system, more consideration should be considered before these organs are so quickly slated for removal except in extreme circumstance situations. After the dust settles in most of these situations, the doctor and medical professional community is left with few options available to patients that visit their office with a " I'm not responsible and it is your duty to quickly fix what is ailing me" mentality. This will always shorten the life of the patient and leave the health professionals scrambling to fix a "too little, too late" situation that is more often than not created by the individual due to irresponsibility for their own health and well being. Now, this no respect and abusive attitude toward ones own health is rendering the medical profession less effective until the individual attitude is changed along with lifestyle changes and self respect.
