Every kid has their own likes and dislikes when it comes to eating. Some children seem to gobble up everything put in front of them, but other children are either very picky, or just don't eat much at all. When you have a child that isn't eating much, it's important to make sure that what little food they're eating is as nutritional as possible. Getting kids to eat healthy is difficult, but there are tricks to make your life easier. Kids can easily be tricked by presentation. If you give them a plate full of raw asparagus or cucumber, they might be wary of eating things so leafy looking. However, if your cut crinkles into your cucumbers, your kids will be fascinated. Now it looks more like a french fry than a plant, and that might just be enough to get your child to like it. Your child doesn't need to eat every kind of vegetable. It is true that each vegetable has unique properties, but your child can be perfectly healthy avoiding 1 or 2 vegetables that they simply cannot stomach. Find the vegetables that your child actually enjoys. It's better that your child eat some vegetables than none at all. Don't just drop a pile of vegetables on your kids' plates, try to incorporate vegetables into your cooking. It's the same principle of sneaking your dog's medicine into a hot dog to get him to eat it. Your child's aversion to a vegetable may be mental. If your child doesn't like broccoli, try sneaking it into their macaroni and cheese, and they might not even notice they're eating it. You could also take the dog metaphor literally and cram some asparagus inside a hot dog! Maybe not. So if your child refuses to eat healthy, just trick them into it.
