Do you want to look like a million bucks? 1. * TIMING: Start shopping early in Spring for styles that are current. In February and March there are often clearance sales of older styles and in March- April you have selection of newer styles. By May you will have lots of competition in shopping from those that procrastinate. This schedule may vary slightly in different regions of the country. * 2 STYLES: Thumb through magazines to find dress styles you like. Ads often have a dress number on the picture which can be used for a Google search for the dress and shops that sell it. (see resource box for related article how to find a prom dress and limo) Once you have determined your favorite styles and dresses you can take one or two pictures shopping with you, or order offline. * 3 STORES: Local Shop try; JC Penny's, Forever 21, Macy's, Dillard's, David's Bridal (other local bridal shops). Most have online catalogs to preshop that stores selection. Ask what services they provide: Alterations, Steaming or Pressing, Delivery? Determine return policy before purchasing. Do not try to return AFTER prom that is dishonest and cheap.Buy the dress you can afford. IF price is high some stores will negotiate price some. It doesn't' hurt to ask. * 4 SHOP ONLINE: There is shopping beyond ebay.com. Links for some online spots are listed in resource box. Allow 6 weeks before graduation to have your dress ready. That way you will have time to return if there is a problem. 4 weeks or less and you will need to pay extra to prioritize the shipping. Try these for great prom and graduation dresses. GoJane.com, PROMGIRL.COM, Debs.com, and findmypromdress.com and Sydney's closet.com for plus sizes. * 5 ACCESSORIES: Look for accessories at bridal shops or at ICINGS by Claire's.
