No matter how much you love the game, every one of us struggle to stay motivated at times. Why do baseball workouts when it's much more relaxing to lay around on the couch? It is usually a difficult problem to get over, yet it's necessary to do this...and immediately. The folks who overcome this issue the fastest are going to become the greatest. It’s that simple. It does not matter how good of a player you are, if you are not motivated to practice and train and you don’t practice, you will be overtaken by average players who work tirelessly and are motivated to beat you. It’s all about who will work the hardest and the longest to reach their goals. This not only is applicable to baseball training, but everything in life. The primary thing you must do to get yourself motivated once again would be to realize the reasons why you're playing baseball to begin with. Most people will answer, “Because it is fun.” Though that's a totally okay answer, consider why it is fun for you personally. What do you enjoy about it? Imagine yourself at bat with two outs in the bottom of the ninth and smacking the game-winning home run! If you work hard enough, you won’t have to envision that in your head, because you’ll actually be doing it! It is really that simple. Numerous young players get discouraged because they had a bad day at practice or because some people who are possibly better players than them make fun of them. While these “better” player’s actions are totally unacceptable, rather than getting back at them physically, encourage yourself to practice and train harder and longer than them. That will be a much bigger punishment to them than a punch in the face. I guarantee it. Every time you consider slacking off, think about them and how bad they will feel when you are better than them and maybe even take their spot on the team. The final thing to keep in mind is that it doesn’t matter if you are not the best player on your team right now. If you have a dream, ambitions, and the hard work and determination to achieve those goals you will succeed! I am not simply writing this to get you motivated...I really do mean it. You might assume that the major league players are all born outstanding athletes. I am here to inform you that many of them are, but yet there are many of them who worked their tails off every single day and made their future what they wanted it to be. And that is what you should do too. Are you interested in improving your game and being the best baseball player you can be?
