Women of today are more than just homemakers – they now belong to the working class and have earned their right as a partner in providing for their family’s needs. It is only fitting that women who are professionals dress up in appropriate women suits that portray and highlight their new role in society today. With the gamut of available outfits in the market both in retail stores and online, it is easy to find the right ensemble of clothing. One’s perception of a suit is the more common three-piece get up of a blazer, pants, and undershirts which are usually a blouse or a more formal looking shirt. While this is still the choice for many, women suits have seen changes over the years. Instead of pants, some women pair skirts that are usually knee length though some may go a little above or below the knees. This works quite well with the whole look – it maintains the professional look while at the same time showing a little more femininity with a slight show of skin. When it comes to blazers, women suits are again varied. The usual length of the sleeves is long, reaching up to the wrists or just above it. However, designers have now altered this perception and began making blazers or coats that are only three quarters long, resting on the elbows; others are short sleeves while some go more daring with a sleeveless blazer. These different lengths of women suits add to the glamour and individual style of the women wearing them. Some women suits require women to wear something underneath their blazers or coats. Usually, this garment is a blouse to further highlight the suit while other times only a flimsy material is needed because the coat covers the entire area. Women suits are no longer confined to the three or sometimes two piece ensemble. It is now considered acceptable to wear a dress and throw in a blazer or coat of the appropriate size and style and women can come off still looking every inch the professional. Of course, these women suits come in different colors, prints, and designs. Classic ones still come in neutral colors such as black or navy blue but there are women suits that come in more refreshing colors such as light green, white, pink, and grey among others. Prints like pinstripes are also in trend these days but there are more who stick to the basic solid color with only embellishments to live up the look. In any case, women suits are now very popular with those who want a look that is classy and professional but at the same time showcases the women’s own style and uniqueness.
