You can control dust mites or microscopic bugs. There are many ways to keep dust mites under control in your home. It is impossible to get rid of all the dust mites but you can kill most of them with preventative measures. If you find yourself coughing and sneezing after laying on the carpet it could be caused by dust mites. First in areas that you don't need carpeting keep with wood floors or some kind of tile floor. On your bare floors make sure to clean them regularly by mopping or vacuuming. You can use throw rugs that are laundered or clean them a couple times a week. A mild solution of distilled white vinegar and liquid hand soap will kill the dust mites When you vacuum your carpets use a vacuum cleaner that has a built in HEPA filter. If you use a canister vacuum attach a filter to the exhaust port. Most stores will carry a HEPA filter you need to use this type of filter or you will just blow the dust mites back into the air. All your bedding sheets, pillow cases, blankets should be washed in hot water since dust mites like to live in the bed rooms.
