10 Tips to go from Over-Processed hair to Natural Hair

Fashion & Cosmetics,Health
What leads to over-processed hair? - The use of excessive chemicals, harsh and damaging hair products. Dying your hair, using bleach, doing perms, or using heat tools to often can very likely lead to damaging and over-processing your hair.

If you feel that your hair is damaged or over-processed you may be tempted to either use other harsh strategies to improve your hair but will only cause further damage. You may just start shopping for hats, bandanas, wigs, scarves, or anything to cover up your hair. These are nice accessories for an occasional look but it can be upsetting to feel you need to cover your hair and not showcase it with a beautiful natural look and style as well.

There are solutions to improve your damaged or over-processed hair. Below are 8 steps to beautiful and natural hair.

1. Avoid the use of harsh shampoos or conditioners. Shampoos that are for oily hair may not be a good approach, particularly for curly hair because the curls need natural oil. You don't want to strip any oil that may still be present in your hair naturally. Use shampoos which are gentle and nourishing and be sure to include a good quality moisturizing conditioner. Shampoos that contain alcohol and sulfate are ones that definitely need to be avoided as these ingredients are much too harsh.

2. If you color, perm, bleach, or straighten your hair chemically then you hair is most likely to be over-processed. If you relax, bleach, or straighten too often, this can lead to over-processed hair.

3. Did you know that swimming at the beach or the pool for long periods of time or a bit too often during summertime can also deplete your hair of moisture? Using a swim cap to keep your hair from getting overexposed to the damaging water and sun will make the most difference. You can also use a leave in conditioner for your hair and then use a deep conditioner once a week to maintain a good level of moisture and a soft, natural bounce.

4. A regular hair cut or trim every 2 to 3 months will help to remove split ends and improve the rate of growth and your hair will stay healthier and stronger.

5. Heat style tools can add to over-processed hair difficulties. Cut back on usage of heat tools such as curling irons and hair dryers and try not too use them quite so often. Consider taking a short break of perhaps 1 or 2 months of using them to give your hair sufficient recovery time. Consider only using them for special occasions or a few times a week once your hair quality has improved.

6. A home-made remedy for your hair is also a wonderful approach. You can have the satisfaction of making the remedy yourself and save money while taking good care of your hair so that it can return to its natural look and beauty as soon as can be.

7. Increase circulation to your scalp by using a scalp massage tool or your hands to massage in a circular and rocking motion. Do this daily and in combination with your favorite hair treatments whether home-made or a favorite leave-in conditioner. 8. When it comes to brushing your hair, be sure to use good quality wide-tooth combs and Denman brushes. Maintain your hair care products by replacing them on a regular basis such as every 4 to 6 months.

9. You are what you eat so having a healthy diet is very important to improving over-processed hair and toward maintaining beautiful, healthy hair.

10. Exercise is very important as well because it increases blood flow to your scalp and results in a much healthier head of hair.

Follow these tips and do try to be as consistent as you can on a daily or regular basis. Create a good regimen to follow every single day, preferably in the morning before you start your day and once again at night before going to bed. If you feel you will only consistently follow either a morning or a night routine then simply stick with your best time of the day or night and you will see improvements and results.
