Trance Mediumship is someone who can move in and out of a trance at will. This type of medium is considered the highest form of mediumship and is on the spirit plane. When the spirit links with the medium links with the medium it usually takes control to a lesser or greater degree. There are several indications that the person is in a trance. Usually when the trance happens the heart rate slows, there is shallow breathing, a lowering of body temperature, and no rapid eye movement. Also there are various degrees of consciousness and a lower threshold to pain and touch. It is a strong sharing of energy and bonding between both the spirit and medium. Usually during the trance the spirit is communicating directly through the Mediumship and usually the normal voice pattern changes from normal. It has also been noticed that a lot of normal speech patterns are broken and word patterns are reversed. The spirit that is in control is the one speaking through the medium.
