Rochester is really a collection of small communities that have grown together and now has a population of over 220,000. Rochester New York is the third most populous city in the state and because of this you can easily see that it is one of the most popular places to live in New York. When people live in the city they will never be lacking for anything to do. There is a ton of stuff to do in Rochester and there is never an excuse to be bored. For instance you will find many interesting museums that you can visit in Rochester. There's lots of areas that you can walk through and enjoy a day outing with easy access to restaurants and movie theaters. Rochester is also a great city to go strolling or biking along the Erie Canal. The city is also jam packed full of gorgeous natural scenery that can take your breath away almost any time of the year. This is one of the reasons why Rochester is a favorite tourist destination of so many. The city has a lot of places to go to such as the Seneca Park zoo, Frontier Field and the Campbell Whittelsey Museum, to name a few. Rochester is also home to the Philharmonic Orchestra. One of the best times to visit Rochester to enjoy the scenery is during a late spring or early fall months. This the best time of year to come to Rochester for a vacation, because the summers heat will not have begun nor the chill of winter taken its grip on the city.
