Quote: “Habit is habit and not to be flung out of the window by any man, but coaxed downstairs a step at a time. Mark Twain You ask, ‘Eat until You Are Satisfied?’ Is this a typo error or a latest fab to reduce weight? Believe me this question has been thrown in my face so many times in my talks and cocktail parties, that I have lost count of it. Be patient! Just sit down comfortably and relax! Allow me to explain further. This phrase holds the key to unlock the treasure chest to an effective and permanent weight loss therapy. All I ask of you now is to have an open mind. Read this article word for word and then you tell me what I am saying is ‘true’ or ‘false.’ OK? Are you ready then? Fasten your seat belt as we blast off to a revolutionary weight loss concept that may blow your mind away! To begin with, I must warn you that there is a caveat! Satisfaction is different from fullness. Satisfaction is: "I can stop eating now, I may still have room for more food but I'm at comfortable stopping at this stage." Fullness is “I can’t eat another bite” True hunger is physical; satisfaction is both emotional and physical. Being hungry depends on what you last put into your body and when you did so. Being satisfied depends not only on when and what and how much you eat but the feeling about what you eat. Having laid the groundwork, let’s probe into the following amazing keys on being satisfied. And get rid of those unwanted fats. Key to Unlock No.1. You must be hungry when you are eating. What you are about to read its no ‘rocket science’ materials. It does not need a learned Ph.D. to understand this concept. Simply stated. If there was no signal to begin, there will be no signal to the end. Look up at the sky. The universe has no beginning and there will be no end. Scientist does not know when it has started and when it will end. The universe is growing and growing! There seems to be no end at sight. Similarly, just because there is food on the table or at the buffet line, we should not be there grabbing the food and gorging down hastily. After all, meetings are meant for exchanging ideas and networking. Right? Up next! Let’s unlock the next secret to an effective weight loss tactic. Shall we? Key to Unlock No. 2. You must eat what you want to eat. If you are eating foods that you don’t want, either because they are low in calories or because they are free or leftovers. Or even you already paid for them, you could then be emotional satisfied. Trust me, you won’t feel good about either yourself or the meal. You will feel to want more. You may be physically full, but you will still want more. Understand? Next, let’s give a shout to prerequisites number three. Believe it is just as important as the rest. You can bet your eye balls on that! From my successful treatment with obese patients, they seem to agree whole heartedly that prerequisite No 3 has been the overriding rule for their successful weight loss tactic. Let’s not waste any time and let’s move along to next key. Right? Key to Unlock No, 3.Your attention must be present. You guessed it right! Satisfaction is a result of being in the present moment. If you are reading or watching television, if you are distracting yourself in some way from the taste of the food and from how it feels in your body, you will completely miss the signal of satisfaction that your body gives you! That signal is soft, unlike hunger and unlike fullness, and you must be listening to hear it. Next! Key to Unlock No 4. To stop eating when you are satisfied Take note of this. And before you are uncomfortably full, you must believe that you can eat again when you're hungry. If you think this is your last chance to eat a particular food or your last chance to eat what you want, you will try to store good tastes by eating more than enough. If you threaten yourself by promising that you will diet on Monday, or New Year's or three weeks before your sister’s wedding, or breaking “Free Doesn’t work, you will eat more to defend against the deprivation! Let’s pause here for a moment. Allow me to ask you a personal question? ‘Think we are going somewhere?’ Personally, I say we are even at this fifth prerequisite stage! Key to Unlock No 5. Stopping when you are satisfied Lucky for you! This vital key may mean not finishing the food on your plate It means being willing to ‘waste food’; it means being willing to put food away, throw it away or give it away. It means resigning from the clean plate club. Easy to remember? You bet! To summarize, the prerequisite for using the tactics of ‘Eating until Satisfied’ as a weight loss tool is. Firstly, you must be hungry when you are eating. Secondly, you must eat what you want to eat. Thirdly, your eating attention must be present. Fourthly, to stop eating when you are satisfied. And lastly, stopping when you are satisfied. Get my drift? In truth, as you have learned and apply the above concept, you will be a different person, The very moment you start living the new identity you plus applying these keys you should then ask yourself, "What more can I be? What more will I be? Who am I becoming now?" When you commit to these keys regardless of the environment, you will consistently act as a person who is already achieving the weight loss goals you have set. Breathe as this person. Move as this person. Respond to others people as this person. Treat people with the right kind of dignity, respect, compassion and love this person would! If you decide to think, feel and act as the kind of person you want to be, you will become that. A slim, beautiful and slender individual? Full stop!
