Never Have to Do Cardio Again - Part 1

Fitness,Health,Sports
What if I told you that Turbulence Training could have you NEVER doing cardio again?

Would you be interested? (Yeah, I think you would.) But why would you never want to do cardio again? Because it SUCKS, that's why!

Now, before I go on, let me clarify for a moment - when I say 'cardio', I mean what most people think of in the general sense of the word. And that is long, slow, boring cardiovascular activity. (It's also called LSD or 'long slow distance' in some circles.) This is when you perform a basic cardiovascular-based exercise at a very low intensity, and do it for longer durations. Examples would be jogging for a few miles, running on a treadmill for an hour, or using almost any other cardio machine (bike, rower, stair machine, elliptical, etc) for longer periods of time (45 minutes or longer).

Most people dislike this kind of activity simply because of its very nature. It's long. It's slow. It's boring. It takes forever. You have to go to the gym (most of the time). It's just a great big pile of 'yuck'.

But here's the real kicker - long, slow, boring cardio isn't a very efficient method of exercise, nor is it really that great for you in the first place.

First, let's give cardio some credit. It is a good exercise for burning calories. That much can't be denied. In fact, this is the reason so many people have lost so much weight by just doing cardio - the sheer volume of work leads to a lot of calories being burned, and that leads to weight loss.

Another good thing about it is that it's very easy on the CNS (central nervous system). Some methods of exercise can be very not only very physically demanding, but very demanding on the CNS - generally when they're done very intensely. (By intensity, I don't mean how hard you're working. Rather, how close to your maximum capability you're working. So if the fastest you could run a mile is in 6 minutes, running one in 6:30 would be much more intense than running one in 9:15).

Since cardio is fairly slow, it's not intense, so it doesn't wipe out the CNS, and therefore doesn't lead to overtraining. And that's a good thing.

The other thing cardio does well is improve your aerobic capabilities, making your heart and lungs stronger and more healthy. This not only gives you better cardio, but improves your health overall and lengthens your life span.

All of these things are good, right? I mean, is there anything here that makes you say "No, I don't want that"? Of course not. So if that's the case, then why do we want to never do cardio again?

(Besides the fact that most people really are just lazy.)

There are a few reasons, actually. First of all, cardio is LONG. A good cardio session needs to be a minimum of 45 minutes long - preferably 60-90 minutes. And to get true benefit from it, you really should be doing it several times per week - like four times minimum. 5-6 times per week is even better.

So on that note, cardio just takes forever.

Cardio is also very boring. But let's be honest - you probably already know that, so I'm not going to spend any time on that point.
