I’ve been testing my LG 500g for about 2 weeks now, so I’m pretty sure that I’ve extracted enough info to make an actual review this time. With that said, the first bit of info for you to digest is that this handset is prepaid carrier TracFone’s first QWERTY keyboard equipped unit. Having said that, another fact that I can say with confidence is this handset runs on the GSM network, which is pointed out by the letter “g” connected to the end of the model name. Regardless of the fact that the handset lacks 3G capabilities, it’s still able to dish out great signal reception and excellent voice quality during calls. When it comes to the physical aspect, the phone measures 4.58 x 2.35 x 0.51 inches and weighs 2.93 oz, giving the phone a slim compact design with solid feel. Taking my LG 500g in and out of my pocket was an easy task, since the corners were well-rounded. On the contrary, there’s also a tendency for it to slip out of your hand as well (based on personal experience). Moving forward, here’s another thing I enjoyed about this phone: the mp3 player. Even if the LG 500g is small in size, the speaker quality is not to be underestimated (coz it’s great) especially when you plug in your stereo headphones. Also, it supports an expandable microSD card of up to 4GB - this comes in handy if you want to store a bunch of songs and other media files as well. Much of its other features have standard functions like the 1.3megapixel camera. This function can produce decent snapshots, but below average video clips. The least likable aspect of this phone is the browser key, since it is functions as the “back” and “exit” key at the same time - this usually becomes an issue when users accidentally activate their web browsers. Finally, exposing your 500g to direct sunlight is another issue with the screen. But that isn’t too big of a deal, since the remedy is simply to move to a shaded area. Want more info on the LG 500g?
