In this day and age even if you have your financial situation going great, the dark clouds can run in quickly for any number of reasons. Ultimately, like many other areas of important, there is a reliance on the good will and power of the Lord to see you through financially. The story of Joseph of Genesis resonates to this day as far as seeking divine help with finances. There are two major points that can relate from the story of Joseph. First is that there were signs given pointing to a great worldwide famine of 7 years. These signs were interpreted correctly by Joseph, who had risen from the ashes of his great troubles to be second in command of all of Egypt under Pharaoh and essentially was the overseer of the storage and distribution of grain as the world wide supply of grain which included travelers from distant lands who paid for the grain, making Joseph the overseer also of all things financial. Joseph, resided largely among pagan people, but still represented the Lord overseeing things through him in these times of distress even for those who did not believe in the Lord. This story shows that for those who seek financial oversight notching with great wisdom... of which Joseph was gifted with, can go to the Lord directly in prayer for this in present times. The Lord will also give signs to the praying person to follow just as signs were given then about what was happening. These signs will be substantial. The Lord is not going to give a sign that is not signaling much, it will rather be things of substance and importance that he is giving signs on and it could also be signs of avoidance as well as the green light type signs. Do bring up finances in prayer without feeling guilty that you might be greedy. Finances do affect things for better or worse and while it is wrong to say that money makes the world go round, it is important in any number of scenarios. Seek the oversight of the Lord and his angels in your personal financial world through the channels of personal prayer.
