Keen to learn more about golf?Read onto discover some great golf tips from a pga golf pro.THE BASIC CHIP SHOT,most people are so obsessed with hitting the ball huge distances that they fail to realise the importance of being able to chip well around the greens and the ability to get up and down on a consistance basis , in this article i will highlight some key factors in the actual mechanics of the shot for golfers of all abilities , which once implemented from setup through to the end of shot will unboubtably save you shots on your round.SET UP What the vast majority of amateur golfers tend to do is totally over exagerate this position to a very agressive set up position , tending to favour to much weight on the front side and having the ball position to far back in the stance , this tends to instigate a very early wrist brake in the backswing and subsequently the angle of attack into the ball is way to steep as a result the tempo of the shot is too quick making it very difficult to judge distances with short chips and more importante either duff or thin the shot itself. REMED Yes the setup should include the two factors mentioned but not to such an agressive position , grip the club softly some 50 % lighter than you would normally do with a small swing to encourage feel and tempo into the the shot , try to resist wrist brake in the golf backswing and keep the hands passive through the strike area , and most importantly try to hold the position at the end of the swing at least for a few seconds , this encourages obviously the completion of the shot but more importantly excelleration.
