Wooden dowels, metal dowels, and plastic dowels are tools that can be found easily at the hardware store but provide major changes to the organization of a home. It can be a difficult task to pay for costly customized home organization systems but the use of dowels makes that task much less expensive. Every man needs a place to store his ties and belts and by using wooden dowels he can make himself a customized rack. Using the dowels as pegs works wonderfully. The wooden dowels can also be used horizontally on a rack with the dowels at different lengths from the wall so that all the ties and belts are visible at once. Hanging towels is important to keep them mildew free and fresh when needed. Towel racks are a necessity in multiple rooms around the house and wooden dowels can assist with the perfect rack. A wooden rack with wooden dowels used as pegs makes the perfect organizational system for a bathroom door, mudroom, or entry. These dowels used as pegs makes it easy to grab a towel quickly. Wooden dowels or metal dowels can be hung horizontally for decorative purposes. These dowels work perfectly for bathroom walls or in the laundry room. Closet space is one area that can get very carried away and chaotic if a proper organization system is not implemented. Wooden dowels and metal dowels provide a very inexpensive way to organize closets around the home. Wooden dowels or plastic dowels can be cut at a 45 degree angle into pegs that are about 5 inches long to create the perfect shoe rack. These plastic dowels work perfectly because their surface is easily cleaned. Short dowels can be attached vertically to horizontal surfaces to make a perfect place to store rings, bracelets, and other jewelry. Curtains and drapes are always needed for the conservation of energy and for privacy but the added expense of curtain rods can be hefty. This problem can be remedied by using wooden dowels or metal dowels as curtain rods. Smaller metal dowels work perfectly for dainty sheers. Larger wooden dowels work best for thicker, more rustic drapes. Curtain rod ends can be purchased to attach to the end of the metal dowels or wooden dowels to incorporate more of a design into the actual rod. Craft rooms have become more of a necessity in homes as the do it yourself era comes to a peak. Craft rooms need their own organization, of course, and dowels come to the rescue again. Wrapping paper never has a perfect place so wooden dowels or metal dowels hung horizontally above a counter make the perfect system for gifts that can be easily wrapped. Ribbons and string also need an easily accessible place so wooden dowels used as pegs do the trick. Dowels are very strong and dowels are easy to cut and customize. Dowels are inexpensive ways to add organization and appeal to a space without breaking the bank.
