Toronto, Canada - GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) is offering its compact fiber fusion splicer which detects the fiber end-face and adjusts parameters automatically. It is designed for single mode fiber, multi-mode fiber, dispersion-shifted fiber (DSF), non-zero dispersion-shifted fiber (NZ-DSF) and erbium-doped fiber (EDF). This compact fiber fusion splicer, model C0210001, offers both manual and automatic splicing modes. It features simultaneous X and Y views, a short splicing time of 8 s and an impressive tube heating time (sleeve shrinking time) of 40 s. Its average splice loss is as low as 0.02 dB (SM), 0.01 dB (MM), 0.04 dB (DS), 0.04 dB (NZDS). The fiber fusion splicer can store 8000 groups of splice results. This light weight single fiber fusion splicer is equipped with reversible monitor with control panel on each side and provides a maximum wind velocity of 15 m/s. It automatically adjusts to environmental conditions using its built-in temperature, humidity and pressure sensors to provide constant feedback control to regulate the fusion arc temperature. It uses an RS232 interface and video output for programming and extended results analysis. Additionally, it uses an AC/DC adaptor or a large capacity internal battery for power supply and allows up to 200 continuous splices and heats.
