New York woman is suing Starbucks, saying her baby son was seriously injured when she dropped a cup of overly hot tea on him. In a complaint filed recently in Kings County, Villona Maryash said the scalding took place in a Starbucks in the Bensonhurst neighborhood in Brooklyn in October, the New York Post reported. She said her son, Arnold Glouchko, who was 5 months old at the time, was in his stroller when she picked up the tea and then dropped it because it was so hot.
Her lawyer, Martin Garfield, said Starbucks should have served the tea with insulation or on a tray. The lawsuit is the second filed in a few weeks over Starbucks tea.

The maximum amount of toxic chemical allowed in baby formula was set at 1 milligram per kilogram, and 2.5 milligrams per kilogram of other food and animal feed, the World Health Organization and the Food and Agriculture Organization said in a joint statement. The U.N. Codex Alimentarius Commission, meeting in Geneva, also developed new hygienic measures for safer fresh salads and seafood, offering guidance in areas such as production, harvesting, packing, processing, storage, distribution, marketing and consumer education.
The commission also published specific advice on controlling bacteria in seafood throughout the food chain, which commission officials said will help to minimize risks. The Codex Alimentarius (Latin for "food code") Commission also adopted measures on sampling food for inspection and control analysis. Fitness and employee absenteeism Although corporate employees are excessively health conscious and keep fit to meet their deadly deadlines, still 29 per cent of them indulge in smoking with another 5 per cent smoking along with excessive intake of alcohol, leading to an average absenteeism of 20 per cent per week, reveal findings of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) in its study of, ‘Preventive Health Care’. It adds that 12% employees smoke and eat excessive junk food. All these aforesaid factors cause 20% of absenteeism in corporate offices and result in a loss of productivity which is annually estimated within the range of Rs.
