There are some important matters of safety to be aware of when using your gas wall oven. Instructions will be included with the manual but here are some general tips to keep in mind as well. You should have the gas wall oven installed professionally to not only ensure the most secure fit in the designated space but also for proper handling of the gas line. Before using your gas wall oven for the first time, remove all packaging from the appliance aside from any wiring labels or instructions located on the back. Tape, stickers, and other residue from packaging can be easily removed before use. In the event of problems that may occur, don't remove paneling or wiring from the gas wall oven unless the manual explicitly instructs you to do so. There are many simple troubleshooting procedures that can be followed to help with minor problems but more serious ones will require a technician. A gas wall oven comes with the added benefit of opening up space on the floor and can nestle right beside your cabinets but it should not be used for storage. This is particularly true for anything flammable and more highly flammable materials shouldn't even be stored in the oven's proximity, let alone inside of it. On a similar note, it is a good idea to not store items of interest to children above the gas wall oven as it may lead to them climbing on the appliance to get what they desire risking harm to both the children and the oven. Speaking of children, it is also wise not to leave them alone with the gas wall oven while it is in use. A gas wall oven can remain hot inside even when the interior color has darkened. It is a good practice not to touch interior elements or surfaces until sufficient time has passed to allow for cooling and to err on the side of caution. Areas such as the vents, oven door and window may get excessively hot as well during the use of your gas wall oven so be mindful of potential burns when handling these areas of the oven. When cooking with your gas wall oven, keep a close eye on the food if grease or fat is involved as they can easily catch fire if they get too hot. In the event of a grease fire, do not use water or flour to attempt to put it out as this will only cause the fire to spread. If the fire is small enough, use a lid to smother it. Baking soda or a foam-based fire extinguisher are good materials to put the fire out with. When handling the cookware, an oven mitt or pot holder is recommended but be sure that they aren't wet or moist. Damp cloth in a hot oven can lead to steam burns. Do not use unopened food containers inside an oven, the heat can cause the contents to explode which could lead to not just an unnecessary mess but potential injury. The manual included with your gas wall oven will contain further instructions specific to your model.
