Many people have had the experience of walking up to a house after dark has fallen, and had the outdoor lights spontaneously switch on. The first time this happens, it can be somewhat disconcerting; while walking to the front door, the person wonders the whole way whether the person saw them out the window or if, perhaps, nature finally reached the level of darkness required to trigger the lights. For someone who knows a little bit more about motion sensor lights, the lighting phenomenon makes a lot more sense; there are even some who decide to wait a minute or two to see if the light turns off again before proceeding to knock on their friend's door. Motion sensor lighting is becoming very popular in businesses as well as in home use. As technology has increased, motion sensor lighting has become progressively more versatile. Motion sensor lights serve a variety of purposes, whether they are for convenience, for safety, or for energy sufficiency. There are motion sensor lights for the interior as well as the exterior of the house. Interior motion sensor lights have made great innovations in recent years and are becoming widely used in many communities. This type of motion sensor is meant to greatly enhance the ease of use in the common household. Because the motion sensor has undergone somewhat of a makeover, it is now able to be made in a much more attractive format; in fact, upon examining a motion sensor light many people still do not know that it isn't a regular light. An indoor motion sensor could be installed for various reasons. That reason may be to replace a nightlight, to ease the difficulty of carrying groceries into a dark house with no open hands to flip the light switch, or even for convenience throughout the house. Indoor motion sensor lights, once ignited, will remain on for a predetermined period of time before they need to be activated by motion again. The outdoor motion sensor has been in use for quite some time. This type of lighting also has a variety of applications. The first, and most commonly noted, is the outside light as a deterrent for criminal activity and mischief. If a regular person with non-hostile intentions is surprised by motion sensor lights, someone who has somewhat more vicious and less upstanding intentions, who is already jumpy and nervous, likely will be much more shocked and alarmed when the lights turn on without warning. Like indoor lights, outdoor motion sensor lights have become so well hidden that they are difficult to distinguish. This offers further home protection. An intruder who is unable to identify whether the lights are motion sensor or triggered by a person inside is much less likely to continue with his suspicious behavior. Furthermore, the brightness of a motion sensor light would attract the attention of neighbors or any coincidental passerby, thereby offering further discouragement for causing trouble. The motion sensor has become a very useful and common tool for many different areas and situations, both indoor and outdoor; and is therefore very compelling to people of all demographics.
