If you are concerned with your home security, than using a motion sensor can really help to improve that security. A motion sensor can be installed with lighting that will come on as a person approaches your door. This is probably the most common type of motion sensor that most people think about. However, there are other ways in which a motion sensor can really be a boon to your home security system. One of the more exciting styles of motion sensor is the type that is connected to a surveillance camera. These can actually record up to 45 days of continuous video on an SD card. It looks just like a regular motion sensor light, but also includes a pinhole camera that gives you the option to keep tabs on your business or your home without having to hire an expensive security team to install and keep watch on your property. Some motion sensor security camera models will work with a DVR that can connect to the TV or will use an SD card in the computer. The motion sensor activates the recording, so that you are only recording when there is motion in that location. Other surveillance options will record both audio and colored video that can be recorded on either an SD card or in the internal memory. This type of motion sensor surveillance has a camera that is visible to you so that you can see who is there when you are home and then let the camera record movement when you are away. It may even include a date stamp that includes the time and date as well as the length of recording. With the microphone, you also get an audio recording that goes right along with the video. Like the other surveillance models, this one is only activated when the motion sensor detects movement. As you work on your motion sensor surveillance system, you may also want to include a small motion sensor that is practically undetectable. This little motion sensor can be triggered to activate an alarm or lights or both, but is designed to mount flush in a hole less than an inch in diameter. For your home or business, this may be just the thing you need to add to your other surveillance equipment. The nice thing is that these types of motion sensor options are available at your local home improvement or lighting center. You don't have to be a member of the CIA or a professional security system company in order to procure adequate motion sensor surveillance equipment for your home or office. In fact, most of these motion sensor lights and cameras are very reasonably priced, so you don't have to give an arm and a leg to purchase them. In general, they are also quite easy to install, so you can do it all yourself and include only the items you want. Many of these motion sensor devices can work together to provide the level of security you require for either your home or business.
