Basically, there are two main types of laser pointers depending on the outage – high power laser pointers and lower power laser pointers. The 100mw laser pointer, however, could be added to neither of those categories as it is nether extremely powerful nor is it a lower power laser. Though some people think that it is a huge disadvantage for that type of lasers, it is just the opposite, the greatest thing ever. That is because both high power and low power lasers have advantages and drawbacks, but the 100mw laser pointers is pretty much able to combine all the good things which each of them has. For example, high power laser pointers are so powerful that they can reach the sky surface, but on the other hand, their beam can seriously harm people’s eyesight. The low power lasers are much less harmful but their beam is less bright. That pretty much means that the 100mw laser pointers, no matter if they laser pointers red beam or laser pointers whose beam is of any other color, can be used for absolutely everything. For instance, what they are usually used for is pointing out segments of text during lessons, presentations and tuitions. Their beam is extremely bright, especially when it is dark in the presentation’s room. So the dot can be seen by absolutely everyone. A good thing is also that even if the lecturer accidentally points the 100mw laser pointer at someone’s eyes, it will not do any serious harm. Anyway, it is still important to mention that it is highly not recommendable to direct laser pointers’ dot at somebody’s eyes. It does not matter if it is a 100mw laser pointer or not! Nor does it matter if it is laser pointers red beam or any other color! Lasers are always harmful to the eyesight no matter what their outage or color of beam is. Anyway, it is still worth mentioning that the more powerful a laser is the more harmful it is to the eyesight. And though the 100mw laser pointers are by far not the most powerful types of lasers available on the market, they are still suitable for sending the SOS message. Usually, mountaineers and campers prefer the most powerful 1000mw laser pointers, but using a 100mw laser pointer is also okay since its beam is powerful enough to reach the sky, and will be seen by people in a range of 6-7 kilometers. That is certainly more than enough to be discovered.
