Fuel that is burned by cars, buses and other vehicles contributes to pollutants that are released into the air and atmosphere. LPG as an Alternative Fueling System Liquefied petroleum gas [LPG] is a low cost alternative fueling option that is available for conversion. LPG is derived from fossil fuels. It burns more cleanly than heavier molecular hydrocarbons and releases very few particulates when burnt. When it burns, it produces no soot, and very few sulfur emissions. LPG is synthesized by refining petroleum natural gas and it poses no ground or water pollutant hazards.
