Planters Fasciitis, also known as plantar fasciitis, causes the inflammation of the plantar fascia ligament. This ligament is positioned along the bottom of the foot. The plantar fascia ligament is made of fibrous bands of tissue. This tissue runs between the heel bone and your toes. Every step you make causes this tissue to stretch. Inflammation can happen when tears occur in the tissue. Complaint About this Heel Problem A very common complaint from plantar fasciitis sufferers is the aching pain, burning or stabbing pain in the heel of the foot. The morning time can be the most painful for these sufferers because the ligament tightens up during the night while we sleep. Once we put pressure on this ligament when we step the pain becomes intense. Pain will usually decreases as the tissue warms up. The pain can return after standing or other physical activity. In most cases, planters fasciitis will not require surgery or invasive procedures to stop pain and reverse damage. Many treatments that are less invasive can usually fix the problem. Because of this function, plantar fasciitis can easily occur from a number of reasons. The most common can be from too much exercise. Athletes commonly get this. Repetitive and heavy stress can cause the tissue to tear and become inflamed, resulting in moderate to severe pain. Arthritis is another cause. The elderly often obtain some type of foot problem. Certain types of arthritis can cause inflammation to develop in tendons, resulting in pain in the heel area. Diabetes is also a factor that can contribute to further heel pain and damage, particularly among the elderly. One of the most common factors that may contribute to planters fasciitis is by wearing shoes that don't fit right. Shoes don't fit right by being the wrong size, have the incorrect support or are too big or too small. What if there was a way to ease the pain?
