Tennis Bracelets Are An Excellent Addition To A Fine Jewelry Collection

Online Shopping,Fashion & Cosmetics
What fine jewelry collection would be complete without the beauty of tennis bracelets? Simple and elegant, tennis bracelets have long served as tokens of love or affection passed between individuals. Their style allows a proud display of the precious stones set around the bracelet while still remaining in a functional capacity. The actual style of settings is as varied as the jewelers that craft them and consumers that buy them. A deeper look at tennis bracelets will allow the shopper to find the right gift for a fine jewelry collection.

The most common materials for tennis bracelets to be crafted from are yellow gold, white gold, and platinum. Each has their own benefits and characteristics that set them apart from the rest. Platinum tends to be an expensive choice as it provides incredible beauty, rarity, and is an extremely durable material that can take some punishment. Yellow gold tends to be softer and less expensive but carries with it a beauty that has been appreciated for thousands of years. White gold tends to be a bit harder than yellow gold, though offers the look of a silver or platinum metal. It tends to run in the same price spectrum that yellow gold does, if not a bit higher.

Most fine jewelry will include stones of some kind. Diamonds are most commonly used in tennis bracelets though shopping around can produce some other results. The stones used in the settings are small and measured in a total carat weight. It is not typical to see large stones used in tennis bracelets. That generally falls outside the definition of what a tennis bracelet is and is not, though the piece may still be fine jewelry.

Settings and styles for tennis bracelets can be quite varied. The traditional look of the tennis bracelet is small stones set in the entire circumference of the piece. Different settings will be more appropriate to different uses. Many strive to be unobtrusive with great success. However, lesser quality bracelets may have several raised points that are part of the stone mounting. The right option will depend on the overall use of the bracelet and activities of the owner.

A smoother setting is a better choice for the person that is on the go or constantly on the move. That way it is not likely to catch on errant threads, furniture, or clothing to cause damage. A piece of fine jewelry that will only be used on special occasions will not pose as much of a challenge in that regard. A bracelet that constantly gets caught on things is likely to become damaged or relegated back to the fine jewelry box.

The average size for a bracelet is generally 7” for women and 8” for men. Most bracelets can either be lengthened or shortened. The average person will generally find this size to be in an agreeable range for them depending on their own preferences. Getting a bracelet shortened by having a jeweler remove links of it is a fairly easy process depending on the jewelry. Any links removed from fine jewelry to make it shorter should always be saved as replacements for repairs can get quite pricey. If the bracelet is passed to a new owner they might have a thicker wrist and need to have those links reinserted.

The tennis bracelet is a versatile, beautiful piece of fine jewelry that is appropriate for many occasions and uses. Pricing on the bracelet depends on a number of factors, such as carat weight and metal, but can be found as inexpensively as a few hundred dollars. The more luxurious styles with extremely high quality materials can range in the tens of thousands of dollars. There are beautiful options available regardless of how much a shopper is looking to spend.
