You may need to get near the Gulf Stream, but you should catch some whoppers. -- Florida Atlantic Coast: Hands down the spot that gets the most acclaim is the Atlantic coast of Florida from Jacksonville to the Keys. The mullet start running wild in September and the sport fish go after them. From tarpon to sailfish, it’s the best time to get a trophy fish. Anglers also appreciate that you can get to the deep water quick and find plenty of fish along the live reefs, wrecks and in the Gulf Stream.
