Before doing anything on the techie side, you want a basic concept to work with. I recommend first getting some paper and a pencil. Begin by sketching a layout of how you want your net page to appear. As an example, a straightforward title at the very top, the area in which you want any content, photos and such like. Now it's the time to do some programing! Do not let the word programing shock you. Any person can learn and there are a few sites offering free instructions. One such site is http://www.w3schools.com / html / default.asp. Though it's not critical to be a first class programer to build and operate your site, you must learn the fundamentals of html. I would recommend that you completely find out about tables. They're commonly used and with them, you can make a pro looking layout ( even as an amateur ). You need to use any basic text editor, like notepad, to draft, edit, and save your code ( html ). When saving your work for the 1st time, select Text Document for sort of file, then save with the extension htm ( as an example index.htm ). Your default page ( the 1st page folk often see ) is typically saved as index.htm. To find out how your page looks, double click the file and it should immediately open up in your browser. Now that you have your net page good to go, it is time to find a host ( a place for your net page to live ). Since this is your first site, I recommend that you use Free Website Hosting. Some host will put advertising ,eg a banner, on your internet site as the price of free hosting. Others will only charge you to register your Site Name ( www.YourSite.com ). Be cautious not to incidentally enroll in extras like url protection, spam control, and so on. ( unless you are feeling you want them ) as they'll add to your cost. These sites will have a restriction on bandwidth ( how much information that may be broadcast every month ), e-mail accounts, and perhaps one or two other things, but are still superb for first timers. If later on you are feeling you want more, then you typically can upgrade. To get a host, just use any search site and the key phrase Free Website Hosting. Ok! You have sketched a layout for your webpage, learned some basic html, coded your internet page, found your host with the most ( could not resist ), and registered your URL ( www.YourSite.com ). Now it is time to upload ( transfer ) your file ( webpage ) to your host. To do that you want a FTP programme. FTP stands for File Transfer Custom . When using this application, there are sometimes 2 windows. The left window shows your PC files, and the right window shows the files stored on your host. Now you ought to be successfully running. But do not stop there. Continue to modify, add pages, learn to provide a link to other pages and sites, and often add new content. Who knows, you might finally learn to benefit from your creation.
