Many lines have become famous through movies and artists. Most even make their way to everyday conversations. Here are some entertaining examples. “I’m ready for my close-up.” This came from the 1950s classic Sunset Boulevard. The movie features one of the most used quotes to ever appear in television. Surprisingly, however, it is a misquote. As Norma (the main protagonist) descends a grand staircase, she makes a short speech and delivers the film’s most famous line, “All right, Mr. DeMille, I’m ready for my close-up.” “You like me, you really like me!” This quote came from an acceptance speech. While the line is often used in many television series, it is also a misquote. When Sally Field won her second Academy Award for Best Actress, she uttered the memorable line, “I can't deny the fact that you like me, right now, you like me!” “Hello Clarice.” The line came from The Silence of the Lambs, featuring Anthony Hopkins in a great performance as the creepy, haunting killer-cannibal Hannibal Lecter. Today, the line is used (much like how Hopkins used it) as a way to creepily introduce oneself to a person. Unfortunately, it is another misquote. The line is actually, “Good evening, Clarice.” “You can’t handle the truth!” One of the most famous lines in movie history which can be heard when you watch a free movie online, the quote came from A Few Good Men. The film features Tom Cruise as Daniel Kaffee, an inexperienced U.S. Navy lawyer, and Jack Nicholson as Col. Nathan R. Jessep. In the movie, under pressure from Cruise by being caught in one of his own lies, Nicholson declares the famous line. “You had me at ‘Hello’.” came from the 1996 Cameron Crowe classic Jerry Maguire, starring Tom Cruise and Renée Zellweger. Cruise starts the conversation with the “You complete me.” (another famous) quote and Zellweger cuts him off before completing the rest of his speech, to which she utters her famous line. All this can be heard when watching the free movie online. “Life is a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” Tom Hanks as the title character in Forrest Gump delivers this famous line from this now free movie online. Although the line is modern in many ways, it is now considered a classic. The line has since been featured as a reference to the movie in numerous television shows.
