Snowcones are a wonderful combination of crushed, powdery ice and flavored syrups. Snowcone supplies are easy to come by, making this treat easy, affordable and portable. Most snowcones are sold during the spring and summer months. Where the weather stays nice they can be found year round. Shaved ice treats are popular at fairs, carnivals and sporting events. Bright colored syrups with bold flavors are added after the shaved ice is scooped into a cone shaped cup. Syrups are held in easy to pour or pump bottles. Flavors are usually fruity, ranging from cherry and grape to coconut. But, new tastes are popping up - root beer, coffee and even cake batter! If more than one flavor is desired, the liquids can be poured across the top in a stripe pattern giving more flavor combination possibilities. When the sun is shining people everywhere know a snowcone is a customized delight and a great way to beat the heat.
