You would believe with the huge population of Lebanese-Armenians in Pasadena a person could get a very good falafel. Not so straightforward. In which it is correct there are a lot of roasted chicken areas that are extremely excellent, excellent kebabs, falafel and hummus has remained elusive. Until finally now. I just lately had lunch at the Lebanese Kitchen area on Washington Boulevard, and I saw the mild (or was that babaghanouj?). Operate mainly by sister and brother, Violett and Tony Labbad (with some assist from dad) it is a place wherever the foods is great, the rates fair and the wait personnel pleasant, (which is since it is Violett and Tony). The Meza Delight, a sampler of hummus, babaghaouj, falafel, sarma, djadjikh and tabbouleh was served with a lot of pita bread for dipping. And dip I did. Into the smoky-silken babaghaouj (grilled eggplant, ground combined with spices and drizzled with olive oil). This was arms-down the greatest babaghaouj I've ever tasted. Hummus (floor garbanzo beans, tahini sauce and spices) smooth, lightly spiced and scrumptious went properly with the falafel (deep fried ground garbanzo beans and spices). Stuffed grape leaves (sarma) crammed with rice had been tangy with vinegar and the tabbouleh (salad parsley, tomato, onions, cracked wheat and lemon juice) was fresh and light. Cucumber yogurt sauce (djadjikh), with a hint of mint also accompanied the falafel wonderfully. Violett told me that all of the ingredients are refreshing, down to the garbanzo beans which her dad cooks each day-nothing at all out of a can. Even the ground beef is ground refreshing on the premises. These factors, even though seeming slight truly do make a big difference in the last merchandise. An assortment of kebabs (chicken, lule (floor beef), lamb and beef) was served with a generous aiding of rice. I totally loved the lule kebab it had a bit of warmth, and a whole lot of taste. The chicken was breast of chicken, not dry andeffectively seasoned. The two the lamb and the beef ended up tender and grilled to perfection. The Lebanese Kitchen is positioned at 1384 Washington Boulevard, Pasadena. Their hrs are Monday - Thursday, 11:00 a.m. - eight:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 11:00 a.m. - 8:thirty p.m. and they are closed on Sunday. They cater and serve just take-out.
