Super Saver provided Calvin Borel his most memorable win in the year 2010 when he ran to victory after a rail hugging chase to the wire, a style very reminiscent of the Borel riding. Ice Back, who chased Super till the end closed runner up with Paddy o’ Prado a mere neck behind him finishing third. Super Saver paid $18 to its bettors after having won the race by 2 ½ lengths. He was an instant favourite for the Preakness but disappointingly Super Saver succumbed to a humble eight finish followed by a fourth finish at the Haskell Invitational post which he was retired.
