These plans assign you to a network of physicians and hospitals, but you're allowed to use physicians and specialists outside the network by paying an additional fee. They put more emphasis on preventive care, such as offering health workshops and discounts to health clubs. These plans cost more than HMOs and PPOs, but are cheaper than indemnity plans.
