PART 16 PHYSICAL IMPLICATIONS OF THESE EVIL PRACTICES DURING COURTSHIP Courtship often leads to adultery and prolonged co-existence of the two young people in this web, generates the sin of fornication. Apart from adultery and fornication, the promiscuous petting, necking, and fondling in courtship before the proper holy bonds of marriage evacuates all joy, sweetness, charm, appeal and attraction that characterizes perfect marriage within a short period of time. In fact, the beauty of marriage is that it is new. With all singleness and purity of heart, it is fresh, A Great mystery to be enjoyed by just two people alone. Beloved, let us critically consider these propositions. How would we feel after marriage if we see ourselves being hunted and drowned by the memories of our past, in the sense that we had examined the bodies of other girls and women supposed wives of other men, fondled, rough handled, hugged, kissed, and even pet with them all in the name of love or lust. How would we feel approaching our wives with a holy awe, reverence and gladness in our hearts as If we have lived a pure, decent and godly lifestyle and have carefully saved our bodies and our passions wholly and solely for them? On the other hand, would we enjoy the charms of our wives If we got to know that they had been handled, fondled, caressed and their passions aroused by the petting of a number of other men? No wonder courtship before the holy bonds of marriages often result to too many marriages becoming insecure and the appeal and attraction for one another suddenly diminishes thus giving way to divorce. Secondly, courtship makes a girl loose her good chance for marriage. When men may be tempted or tempt girls to pet in courtship, this same men turn around to show high ideals by feeling disgusted with the girls who sold themselves cheaply to them. These men often feel that women and girls who do such things have no respect for their own bodies and cannot be homely to make a steadfast and good wife. Many men pet with girls even in courtship whom they would not marry under any circumstance. Thirdly, courtship leads to hasty and miserable marriages once the sin of adultery is committed through the defilement of its bed. Pregnancy due to this defilement forces the two into marriage to cover their sins even though they knew they do not really love themselves to commit themselves to be lifetime partners. Some men shamelessly suggests to these girls the option of terminating their pregnancies, claiming they are not prepared to get into marriage while others rush into marriage unknown to them that the joining is no more that of two people becoming one but three or more becoming one. If marriage was based on sex passion which was aroused in petting or on beauty, when beauty wanes as a result of tension or stress the marriage bonds can no longer hold both parties thus they become attracted to the awaiting arms of harlots and whoremongers outside. Fourthly, the excessive stimulation of petting and subsequent arousal of sex passions during courtship causes great bodily harm like inflammations, self abuse, guilty consciences and nervous breakdown to both the man and the woman. Fifthly, the most lamentable state often observed is when the man or the woman’s mind had been badly corrupted with spiritual and natural viruses, densely possessed with legions of demons such that they become so clouded with sex matters; that they think, talk and act sex to the extent of having sex shamelessly with imaginary sex mates. They are so lustful and dangerous to the public and could even be driven to rape children. Sixthly, there is often a breakdown of the restraint, modesty and natural inhibitions of purity among those who indulged in such practices during courtship. Seventhly there is also a breakdown of the sense of respectability and decency Heb 13:4 Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. We pet to show no presence of actual love or holy intention to marry. We do this promiscuously, as shamelessly as the mating of promiscuous barnyard goats. Because we do not even respect the Lord Who owns our bodies, we cheapen Holy love, prostitute Holy instinct, arouse the passion of our bodies and inflame lust in our minds. This is terrible, inexcusable and suicidal. No wonder the Lord declared in 1Cor.3:16,17 thus: Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defiles the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 1Corinthians3:16-17 KJV. In all cases they take the next step one that naturally follows to commit the scarlet sin of adultery undermining the fact that the Body is for the Lord and the Lord for the Body. Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. 1Corinthians6:13 KJV The scripture in I Timothy 4:12 warns us against those we yield our bodies to, by so doing insult Jesus Christ our savior Let no man despises thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12KJV. WHAT IS THE MIND OF GOD AGAINST THESE HARLOTRY AND WHOREMONGERING? The mind of God against these practices is simply in Romans 1:18-32. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.
