This category of editing, in addition to copy editing, can be done by freelancers as it is very basic. The fifth category of freelance editing jobs is development editing, which is also termed substantive or comprehensive editing. This job requires the editor to undertake several editing roles at the same time.
The last freelance editing jobs category is the fact-checking editor. In this category, editors are required to countercheck the facts on the manuscript. This job is tasking, but most freelance editors can excel, as materials can be confirmed by internet search. Last but not least, there is format editing. The role of format editor is to check the format (which includes graphics), but in most companies, the task is reserved for proofreaders. Globalization editing is the other category (also termed as the translation editing) where the editor is responsible for international and cultural issues that relate to the article.
